Before I tell you about the prizes, here’s what you need to know:

How will the contest be held?

Round 1

1. Register your Blog for the Contest.



2. When you register, you’ll get a 5-digit alphanumeric code for your Blog.If you have more than 1 Dog related blog, you can register all your Blogs and get a separate code for each Blog.



3. You MUST write about this contest in your blog and ask your readers to vote for you using your 5-digit code.



4. You are also encouraged to promote this contest and mention your 5-digit code in social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter etc., so that your fans and friends can vote for your blog.



5. As your blog readers and friends vote for you, we will track the number of votes you have received. You have time till the 20th of February, 2010 to gather at least 50 votes. You need to get AT LEAST 50 votes in order to qualify for Round 2.



6. Needless to say, you should try collecting as many votes as possible. The more votes you get, the higher your chances of qualifying for Round 2.

Round 2

1. In Round 2, starting from the 21st of February 2010, our in-house dog training experts will manually review each of the blogs that have received at least 50 votes. They will evaluate each blog on multiple parameters – like the quality and uniqueness of the content present in the blog, how frequently the blog is updated, how many votes it had received in Round 1, etc.



2. Out of all the blogs that have received at least 50 votes, our experts will select 20 finalists who will each win prizes worth $50,450. Keep reading to learn about what the prizes are. Also, the 20 finalists will now qualify for Round 3.

Round 3

1. In Round 3, the 1st prize winner of the TrainPetDog.com 2010 Dog Blog Award will be chosen from the 20 finalists by another round of voting – this time by the 600,000+ subscribers of our weekly newsletter. This will be held in the month of March, 2010. The 1st prize winner will receive additional prizes over and above what the 20 finalists receive.



2. The 1st prize winner will be declared on the 1st of April.

At the end of Round 2, if your blog is selected as one of the 20 finalists, you’ll get prizes worth $50,450.

   We would normally charge $10 CPM for any third party ad that is displayed in our newsletter. At $10 CPM, this prize is worth $6000.



2. Each of the 20 finalists will get the chance to give away free 10-year memberships to our Elite Dog Owner’s Club to 10 readers that they select at their own discretion.
   
   The Elite Dog Owner’s Club is our unique online club that helps our members get access to exclusive videos, audio recordings, and articles on different aspects of dog training, and also features exclusive interviews with some of the most famous dog trainers in the world.
   
   Membership to the Elite Dog Owner’s Club costs $37 per month. Therefore, a 10 year membership to the Elite Dog Owner’s Club would cost $4,440. You get to give away 10 such memberships to your readers, making this prize worth $44,400.

3. Each of the 20 finalists will get permanent exposure in our web site. Our web site receives more than 4 million visitors every year.
